Outlaw scores 24 points to lead the Trail Blazers to 101-77 victory over Kings

San Fransisco Gate - Travis Outlaw scored 24 points to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 101-77 preseason victory over the Sacramento Kings on Friday night.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 18 points for the Blazers and Martell Webster added 17.

Reigning NBA rookie of the year Brandon Roy made his first appearance of the preseason for Portland after missing three games with inflammation in his left heel. He showed rust in his first game back, and took extended breaks, finishing with nine points.

Roy missed several games with a heel injury at the beginning of last season and wore a protective boot while it healed.

John Salmons scored 14 points, Brad Miller added 13 and Francisco Garcia had 12 for Sacramento, which played without Kevin Martin, the Kings’ leading scorer last season, who was out with a bruised left shin.

The Kings (2-3), who shot 33 percent from the field, were also without power forward Shareef Adbul-Rahim (sore knee).

Sacramento took a 16-9 lead on a 3-pointer by Mike Bibby, his only points of the game.

Aldridge hit a jump hook in the lane to extend Portland’s lead to 60-45 in the third quarter and Roy and Blake hit free throws to make it a 19-point lead.
