Nov 3rd vs Atlanta Hawks

50 points in our paint, against a team with no Big. wow!!

I would like to know, just curious, how many substitutions did Nate call for in the 4th qrtr.

Yup Martell hits 2 big shots, certainly game changers when at home, and he was pulled soon after.

Bottom line, everytime the squad changes so does the chemistry. Even Miller, who is not used to coming in and out all game, cant establish a rhythm.

So last night Nate was interviewed on Courtside. Holton made some kind of joking comment how Nate used to blow passed him back in the day. Get this.........Nate said , "no, I leave driving passed the free throw line to the shooters". Nuff said....There is the philosophy. Perhaps Blake does not penetrate because Nate won't let him. That is the most ridiculous thing I ever heard.

Our coach doesn't seem to know what he wants to do.

So neither do his players.

18-4 fastbreak point advantage to the Hawks. We need some Bayless out there or somethin' to get these Blazers runnin'. More Rudy and Miller, less Outlaw and Blake. This isn't just required, it's just plain obvious right now.

This is #$$#$ ridiculous I am so upset right now we have a 1-2 record at home are you kidding me. Yeah we haven't had the easiest schedule in the league and have yet to play a subpar team but come on now this is a team that only lost 7 games all last season at home.

Someone needs to fix this team NOW I am absolutely stunned at the lack of effort from this team in close game situations.

On that top video, LA mentioned " we had a rhythm going, but they stopped it, and we just couldn't get it back."

That's right, except it was not Atlanta that killed our rhythm, it was the horribly timed substitutions.

On 95.5 this morning, this was brought up. "Is it coach", and "will the team lose faith in coach, because if coach don't know what to do, then neither do the players"........and with the quickness Mike Barret shot it down, as usual. Talking about " they need purpose, they look, at times, like they do not know what to do."....... Enter coach, that is if coach is able.

Which brings me to another point,
Mike Barret, Mike Rice.......are they blind, or bound by contract not to state the obvious....they are so politically correct it bugs the crap out of me.

ATL by 7

ATL won by 6... I was close!

Yeah I was thinking the same thing last night, why not keep him in there and force the officials to call that 6th foul on him. They went small and gave up offensive rebounds that killed us. Also how about getting a T when Gregs getting a few of those fouls early to let the refs know they are focusing a little too much on Oden, stand up for him when hes getting the shaft.

Even more mystifying....they go small and have LA playing center covering Mike Bibby at the top of the key and Steve Blake guarding one of their bigs down low. WTF?

If it works, It shows his genius????? Just kidding. Did he forget LA had a sore knee as well???? Maybe he forgot and thot Outlaw was in there? Given all the substitution, there could be such confusion, LOL...

As far as Oden's fouls... It could be refs, it could be lack of game rythem and it could be poor defense on the perimeter that exposes him and makes him vulnerable. Whatever it is, in any and all scenario's... It is still Greg oden. He has to learn to play

Oden plays like a big man banging and bumping, back a few years bigs got away with doing just that. Now everyone thinks they should play defense without making contact....impossible, even Joels in foul trouble this year. We need the big guy on the floor and Nate should know that, and do whatever it takes to help him stay there. Try taking a T the first foul they call on him and maybe get tossed on the second, use the tools you have to help... I've seen it work with other coaches (Sloan). Do this for a few games and if that doesnt slow down the fouls go get that huge fine and criticize this crap in the media.

This league has gotten away from big banging post guys, and gone smaller the officiating shows this. You can play more physical on the perimeter than in the post, unless your undersized...then you're allowed to grab, push and elbow all you want. This will be my last post on the subject, Nate needs to stand up for his players once in awhile.....and not just Roy. JMO
